Provenance research of objects that were acquired in the period 1933 to 1945 shows that some owners, despite the extreme circumstances, were actively involved in the events of that time. One notable example is that of persecuted individuals, including Jewish people, who participated in the resistance. By connecting the names of individuals with the objects they created or owned, we gain insight into their social and political activities. The objects tell a story and are tangible reminders of both quiet resilience and open struggle against injustice. Provenance research enhances our understanding of history's complexities and helps us form a richer, more complete picture of the past.
